Common issues & Frequently Asked Questions
What permissions should I grant for the application to work properly?
For the proper functioning of the app, it is necessary to allow at least read access to the activities. This way, the app will have access to your public activities, and reflect low/high intensity proportion.
If you have private activities, the app won't accurately reflect your actual intensity proportion. By allowing read access to private activities, the app will provide you with your full low/high intensity proportion.
If you grant write access to your activities, you will have these insights directly within your Strava activity description.
Why my activity isn't here?
There could be several reasons for this:
- You haven't granted 8020training app the necessary read/real_all permissions. To check your granted permissions and update them, you need to log out and log back in.
- Activity doesn't have heart rate data.
- The 8020training app has reached the Strava API request limits and is currently unable to process new activities. This is a temporary issue, and with time, your activity will be processed.
Why my activity here shorter then in Strava?
The 8020training app was inspired by Matt Fitzgerald's book, which explains that the aerobic system requires a certain level of stress to derive training benefits. This stress is only possible when heart rate values exceed approximately 60% of the maximum heart rate. Therefore, even short walks in the evening, while beneficial for overall health, may not be considered as low-intensity training.
